Philip Rader, Abstract Artist

Philip Rader, Abstract Artist

Biography

Originally from Virginia, Philip Rader moved to Colorado Springs with his family at the age of six.  As a child, his frequent visits to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and other local art venues fostered a strong interest in the arts.  His appreciation quickly turned to inspiration and compelled Phil to study art techniques both in college and independently, and to experiment with new concepts.

Phil spent many years working as a Designer/Picture Framer for various organizations in Denver.  During this period, he showed his oil paintings and prints at local juried shows.  He also continued to push his creative expression, exploring pastels and mixed media artworks.

After completing numerous classes at the Art Students League of Denver, Phil took a leap of faith and became a full time artist! His artwork has now been on display in galleries throughout Colorado.  His work appears at festivals and is held in private collections nation-wide. He is a full member of Edge Gallery, one of the best and oldest co-op galleries in the state, now located in the 40 West Arts District in Lakewood.  In addition to producing commissioned and original abstract artworks, Phil is currently working to become known outside the region, and to popularize his unique style of abstraction.
