This mixed media show was judged by one of the best known mixed media artists in Denver, Mark Friday. Numerous entries were judged through a competitive process which has produced an exciting, not to be missed show, featuring artists both locally and nationally.

Mark Friday has exhibited for almost 40 years.  He has taught art for about 35 years, at institutions including Denver's own Metropolitan State College and now the Art Students League of Denver.   He studied art at the University of Northern Colorado, and Metropolitan State College where he received a B.A. in 1980.

Pirate has long been recognized for its consistent presentation of cutting-edge art. Founded over 35 years ago, this eclectic, alternative gallery space always presents the most audacious contemporary artworks of Denver.

Nora Burnett Abrams, curator of MCA Denver juried the show.  Previously, she worked on exhibitions at major institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Ms. Abrams obtained an M.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. from Stanford University.  She taught art history at New York University and lectured widely on modern and contemporary art as well.
